Wow,, it’s sad to know that Louie Torres no longer owns the place. We are scheduled to visit Idyllwild this weekend and planned on surprising him. I personally know him :( He would have remembered my mother fondly and his orange tree when he used to live in San Diego. Great to see him in this wonderful video!

I live here in Hemet, about 2 miles from this museum. Moved from Redondo Beach and don't miss it a bit! I was very impressed with how well this museum presents its artifacts, the theater, the history of this area and Diamond Valley Lake from which most of these items were retrieved before its filling. I highly recommend visiting this amazing museum! Also, visit the railroad museum in downtown Hemet and Motte Historical Car Museum in Meinfee west of Hemet.

Folklore is good. Don't change the story. Sometimes a little bit of mystery, a little bit of romance and exaggeration can be a good thing. This is not the same as lying or stretching the truth. We need a little fantasy in this cruel, mixed-up world.
